Essays
Here is a collection of hopefully thought-provoking essays. Each person views the world through their lens. It is by understanding other people’s perspectives that we can truly begin to understand one another. I hope to foster an intellectual exchange of ideas. Or at the very least, give me a place to put my ideas down. So read on with an open mind and maybe ignite your curiosity.

I don’t plan to shy away from uncomfortable questions or topics. My essays will delve into the complexities of the human experience, tackling social issues, scientific breakthroughs, and the ever-evolving landscape of our world. If I do my job well, hopefully, you will confront ingrained beliefs, have your assumptions rattled, and perhaps even discover a hidden corner of your perspective you never knew existed.
I am only one person. My essays are not pronouncements of truth, but invitations to a conversation – a conversation where we can all learn, grow, and perhaps even change our minds. This is the world as I see it.
Explore the essays within this section. Let them challenge you, inspire you, and leave you pondering the world with a newfound sense of wonder. After all, the greatest journeys often begin with a single, thought-provoking spark.

Fiction, for all its disguises, has a way of giving the writer away. So the question is worth asking: when we…
- Why Trump’s 51st State Idea Makes No SenseIn the ever-theatrical world of Donald Trump’s political commentary, contradictions are not rare. But one of the more baffling ones to surface involves Canada—America’s peaceful neighbour to the north. Trump has, at various times, floated the idea (jokingly or otherwise) of Canada becoming the 51st state. Yet in the same breath, he’s also claimed that…
- What does it mean to be patriotic?I never considered myself patriotic before. Sure, I’m proud of my country and love living here. I cheer for our athletes in the Olympics. Any national sporting event I will don the red and white and cheer my heart out for Canada to be victorious, or at least not embarrass themselves. I even prefer the…
- Walk in Other People’s Shoes: The Art of EmpathyThe Art of Empathy Far too often, it seems everywhere I look, there is a lack of empathy today. The ability to understand and share the feelings of another is a cornerstone of human connection. It allows us to build bridges, navigate complex relationships, and foster a more compassionate world. When I look around, it seems that many people…
- Nostalgia Ain’t How It Used To BeWhen you fondly remember things from years gone by, are you accurately remembering how it really was, or some dream version?
- Why am I Here?In the last month, three things have brought focus to what I want to do and explains why I am here.
